Life Reflections of Laverne Hardin - Dorsey Laverne Hardin - Dorsey was born as an identical twin on December 16, 1944 to the parents of George Allen and Essie Lewis in Dallas, TX. She received her formal education in the Dallas Independent School District, graduating from Lincoln High School in 1964 where she was a majorette. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education from Texas Women ’ s University. She later obtained her Masters of Art and PhD in Education from Bishop College. She married Matthew Mills in 1966 and to this union three children were born, Michael Mills, Rev. Vittina Mills and Chrishondra Mills Millard. She worked for Boeing Defense & Space as a Quality Control Supervisor in Simi Valley, California. She retired after 38 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Eugene Dorsey, MD; son, Michael Mills; mother, Essie Lewis; twin sister, Everne Grant; brothers, John Lewis and Herbert J. Allen. She leaves to cherish her memories: daughters, Rev. Vittina Mills and Chrishronda Mills Millard; grandchildren, Sgt. Rhyan A. Richardson, Dymond Mills, Christopher Mills and Elizabeth Millard; two brothers, Billy R. Lewis and Walter Griffin.
