Perhaps you sent a lovely card or sat quietly in a chair. Perhaps you sent a floral piece, if so, we saw it there. Perhaps you prayed a sincere prayer or came to pay a call. Perhaps you sang a cheerful song, if so, we heard it all. Perhaps you spoke the kindest words, as any friend could say. Perhaps you prepared a tasty dish, or maybe furnished a car. Perhaps you rendered a service unseen, near at hand or from afar. Whatever you did to console our hearts, by word or deed or touch. Whatever was the kindly part, We thank you, oh so very much.

A Little Story of My Life

On March 1, 1947, a beautiful daughter was born to the proud parents Bertha Clark and Marlon Ross. They proudly name her Marlene Clark after birth. The second child to the oldest and first baby girl born. Marlene attended Julia C. Frazier Elementary, Booker T. Washington and graduated from Lincoln High School. She was always raised in church. Later in life she found a church home she loved. Greater Harvest COGIC. Marlene gave her life to Christ and Heart to God. She was Saved and Set Free; Filled with His Special Holy Ghost. She loved the Lord. She was a true and faithful servant. At a very early age she began taking old newspapers and would sit down and draw and cut out patterns of different designs to make outfits. She would sew every stitch by hand. After having children, she began making their clothes. Eventually, saved up and purchase a sewing machine and started a business in making clothes for customers. Marlene was good at tailoring, tapering, and putting together any style or outfit for any occasion. She loved the gift and talent she was blessed with. To dress someone in an outfit you made, that was special. During that time of her life, she could have considered herself a great seamstress. Marlene moved to California for some years and continued her business in sewing. She decided to relocate back to Texas where her home and heart was. She began to help and volunteer at the park across the street from home and took a few classes to occupy her time as she got older. She enjoyed her Sunday rides with her brother, he would pick her up and they would go shopping, visit family, which always included calling to talk to the family back in California. They would stop and eat or get food, but he knew when she got back home, she was going to be hungry again She is proceeding in death by her mother; Bertha L. Ray: father; Marlon Ross; grandfather; Ned Clark and grandmother; Eugenia Clark; her brother: Julius Clark and sister; Vivian Clark. She leaves to mourn two daughters; Marion Clark and Veronica Clark: three sons; Dale Clark, Michael Clark and Kevin Clark; one grandson Kendrick Clark: two granddaughters Shunta Drouoght and Chamiracle Clark; nine great grandchildren: three sisters; Beverly Clark, Sylvia Bennett and Ruthie Jones and one special, caring and loving baby brother Melvin Ray. And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who were dearly loved from the Heart.
