Deacon Martin Ray Clack -
“So he who had received five talents came and brought five other talents, saying, ‘Lord, you delivered to me five talents; look, I have gained five more talents besides them.’ His Lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your Lord.” ~ Matthew 25:20-21

For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; 10 that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; Colossians 1:9-10 NKJV M R . M ARTIN R AY C LACK was a husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, son, brother, uncle, friend, mentor, and a veteran. He was born on July 5, 1933, to the late Rev. Mack Elroy Clack and Robbie Jewel Allen Clack. He accepted Christ at an early age at St. James Baptist Church of the Peach Creek Community. Martin attended the local schools and went on to serve with honor in the United States Army. He was stationed both in the United States and Germany, where he spent his time dedicated to
serving his country. His military service was a source of pride for him, and he carried himself with dignity and respect both during his time in the service and throughout his life. Martin was affectionately called by his siblings “Babe Bubba” and lovingly called “Daddy” and respectfully as “Mister Clack” by his children and as “Paw Paw” or “Grand Paw Clack” by his grandchildren and great grandchildren and “Uncle Martin Ray” by his nieces and nephews. Throughout his life, Martin Clack was known to be a man of his word and a man of integrity. He was an extremely diligent worker consistently providing for and supporting his family. His generosity did not stop with his family, because Martin Clack would also assist others in his church and community in any way that he could, if possible. Mr. Clack was a Mason and a member of the American Legion. He was employed and retired after many years from Ralston Purina Mills and Cal-Maine. Martin was a very compassionate person and enjoyed his life, joking, laughing, singing, tending to his farm and his farm animals, attending the auction, working in his garden and yard, watch ing sports and his favorite westerns, sharing his wisdom and more importantly sharing the Gos pel of Jesus Christ.
– …D EACONS ARE TO BE WORTHY OF RESPECT … T HOSE WHO HAVE SERVED WELL GAIN AN EXCELLENT STANDING AND GREAT ASSURANCE IN THEIR FAITH IN C HRIST J ESUS .
8 In the same way, deacons are to be worthy of respect, sincere, not indulging in much wine, and not pursuing dishonest gain. 9 They must keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience. 10 They must first be tested; and then if there is nothing against them, let them serve as deacons. 13 Those who have served well gain an excellent standing and great assurance in their faith in Christ Jesus. 1 Timothy 3:8-10, 13 Deacon Clack’s commitment to service was rooted in his deep faith, his love of God, and his heart commitment to serving God by serving others. Deacon Martin Ray Clack’s greatest joy was faithfully attending and serving, alongside his wife, as a member of Providence Missionary Baptist Church for 70 years, while serving as a Deacon for 43 years. He took his role very seriously, as he served in various ministries and capacities as a trustee, deacon, usher and in any way that he could with his time, his many talents and his treasure. Whatever the church needed, Brother Clack was willing, able and available to serve with his whole heart. Deacon Clack lived a life full of love, faith and generosity.

“A Godly Father” A Godly father loves his child More than words could ever say, For his heart is like the Shepherd’s As he leads the righteous way. He knows he shall give an account To his Lord above one day For the way he molds that life he holds… As a yielded piece of clay. With tender loving care, he trains, Not sparing his shepherd’s rod, While praying each and every day For a closer walk with God; For he knows his child learns much more By the example he sees, Than what he is told by one grown cold…
And instructions he receives. A Godly father knows his days Are limited with this clay;
While it’s still soft and pliable, He must form it in God’s way; And when he departs for glory, He’ll leave clear footprints behind For his child to trace and find his place… In Christ’s great kingdom sublime.
