L IVING A LEGACY OF LOVE 7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing. 2 Timothy 4:7-8 NKJV As we mourn the loss of Martin Ray Clack, we also celebrate the legacy he leaves behind. His impact on his family and friends is immeasurable, his memory is forever etched in their hearts. While they grieve the emptiness left by his departure, they will take solace in the cherished moments shared with him. His children loved, respected, honored and obeyed their father until his death. As a man of faith and determination, He lived a life reflecting a strong work ethic, dedicated to being financially responsible and putting his family first by providing for them and raising them to trust God while guiding them with his wise words and Godly counsel. Martin Ray Clack transitioned from this present life to eternal life at the honorable and blessed age of 92. On October 30, 2025, Martin Ray Clack left his earthly body and went to be with his Heavenly Father. Martin Ray Clack is preceded in death by his wife; Jereline Smith Clack, daughter; Kendra Lea Clack, and grandson; Gerald Wayne Clack. Along with his parents, he is also preceded in death by seven siblings; Mirlleen Taylor, Mellow Nee Hicks, Walter Ray Clack (Little Bubba), Marion Clack (Sam), Elroy “Tutta” Cook, Nettie Mirl Strait and Marvin Clack, Sr. Martin was married to Jereline Smith on August 8, 1953. To this union of almost 70 years, five children were born. He leaves to cherish his memory a loving family: Martin is survived by his children: Reverend Gary L. Clack (Sherlyn), daughter, Casandra Clack Gilmore (Alfred), James Carter Clack (Angela), Eric W. Clack (Miesha); his sister: Robbie Clack Herndon; Sisters-in-law; Genevieve Smith and Elizabeth Ruth Bolden and Brother -in-Law; Richard James Smith, and Anderson B. and Dorothy Lampkin and their family. His grandchildren: Gary Tyrone Clack (Teresa), Gregory Clack (Alisa), Marcus Gilmore, Camille Gilmore, James Colby Clack, and Talia Clack, His great grandchildren: Zachary Clack, Sydney Clack, Mallory Clack, Megan Torres, Jacob Clack, Ashlynn Clack, Amiya Thompson, Kaeliya Thompson and Kaeleb Thompson, great great granddaughter: Zaylee Clack. There is a host of family members who will forever cherish his memory; his many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, church members, former coworkers, classmates, and dear friends. Sincere appreciation is expressed to Martin Clack’s caregivers: Robin Clack Barnes, Monica Gomez, Adrian Richardson, and Vanessa Cardenas. Those who had the pleasure of knowing Martin Ray Clack, share in knowing that his spirit lives on in our memories. May we carry forward his legacy of faith, love and compassion, by honoring his remarkable life.
