My Life My days are short and the nights are long I've lived my life and now I'm gone, You may feel weak, but you must be strong for I'm going to a place that is my everlasting home as I wait my trumpet call home.
Melvin Ray Welch was born December 16, 1958 to the late Marion, Jr. and Holen Welch in Shreveport, Louisiana. He attended school in the Claiborne Parish School system, Mt. Olive and Pineview High School. Melvin worked at various warehouses as a forklift operator. His most current employer was Quilt Craft where he eventually retired when his health started to decline.
Melvin was extremely quite and stayed to himself, but once you got to know him, he was so much fun to be around and would keep you laughing.
He is preceded in death by his parents Marion, Jr. and
Holen Welch, and sister Janette Welch.
To cherish his memories he leaves two brothers, Mardist Welch (Barbara) of Dallas, TX; Jonathan Welch (Cecilia) of Covington, La; two sisters, Martha Cooper and Janet Welch both of Dallas, TX; one best friend John L. Durden, and a host of nieces and nephews.
