Growing up in the Deep South during a time of significant social change, Millard faced numerous challenges and uncertainty, but always accepted the challenge with grace and determination. His upbringing in Monroe instilled in him the values of hard work, integrity, and a deep sense of duty. These values guided him throughout his life and career. Upon graduating from Carrol High School in 1963, Millard further challenged himself by enlisting in the United States Air Force during the height of the Vietnam War. Serving from June 1, 1963, to May 31, 1967, Millard followed in the proud footsteps of his father. As an Airman, Millard broke barriers and earned the respect of his peers through his unwavering commitment to excellence. After his honorable discharge, Millard relocated to Baltimore, Maryland, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in History and Philosophy. His personal life was as rich and fulfilling as his military and professional life. While in Baltimore, Millard met Sheila Lucile White, who was attending medical school. In 1986, Millard and Sheila married and together, they raised four remarkable children in Dallas: Maxwell Jackson, Khalil Jackson, Jamal Jackson, and Yasmin Jackson. Each child has thrived in their chosen career paths, a testament to Millard and Sheila ’ s unbending commitment to hard work and excellence. survives in his ex - wives, Marilyn Lanier and Dr. Sheila White Jackson; his four children, Maxwell Jackson, Khalil Jackson, Jamal Jackson, and Yasmin Jackson; and four grandchildren from his second son, Khalil Jackson. He is also survived by his three sisters, Rose Lee Jackson, Valina Jackson, and Maxine Jackson; four nephews, Willie Wilson, Jayshawn Jackson, Dee Jackson, and Lenski Jackson; two nieces, Kim Gipson Jackson and Dawn Jackson; and many additional family members who proudly carry the Jackson name. Millard ’ s dearest friends, Kenneth Martin, Keyone, Bill Fragiskos, and most notably Brandon Stephens, will also cherish his memory. Rest in peace, Millard. Your light will continue to shine brightly in our hearts and in the lives of those you touched.
