Paul Leland Young was born to the parentage of Eugene Young and Ollie Stidmon. He was born March 10, 1933 in Ft. Gibson, Muskogee, Oklahoma. He accepted Christ at an early age. He was raised by his grandparents, Rev. Williams and Fannie Oliver Williams. He graduated from Carver Heights High School in 1952. he attended Prairie View A&M on a football scholarship. He was drafted into the Military from 1953 - 1955. Upon returning to P.V. he met and within six months married Peggy Thomas of Plano, Texas, on July 9, 1956. To this union, Eiron and Rodney (Kenyatta) Young were born. He is survived by Peggy, Eiron, Rodney; grandchildren, Courtney (Kaniqua), Domminique, BreaHanna Young, Cameron Morris and Baili Green; one great - granddaughter, Jaidynn Young; and special daughters - in - law, LaShun Golden and Yolanda Mickens. Around town Paul was affectionately know as “ Pretty Paul ”. Paul was one of the first black Postman for the City of Richardson. He retired from there and went to work at Brook Hollow Country Club where he became a Massage Therapist. After retiring from Brook Hollow he began chauffeuring for Mr. Henry and Nell Beck of Beck Construction until 2012. Dad ’ s joy came from making people laugh and he was good at it. He always brought a smile to someone ’ s face. He was lovable, mild mannered and just fun to be around. He was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan from 1971. He was a fan of any teams in that order. And he was an avid golf player. He loved to go out dancing all over town. His favorite phrase was, “ Everyday is a ‘ Holiday ’. If you get up you get to ‘ holla ’ at the day ”.
