Ruby was born on August 5 th , 1955, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Latoya Merritt, Arlington, TX, her grandmother ’ s Rosa Arrington KC, MO, Gustavia Merritt Tulsa, Oklahoma, sister Dorothy Merritt Oklahoma City, her aunt Peaches Arrington, three uncles Mickey, William, Joseph Arrington all from KC, Mo. Ruby received her education in KC, MO, graduating from Westport High School in 1974. She later moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, while living in Tulsa she attended business classes at Tulsa Vo - Tech obtaining completed certificates in Medical Billing, Coding, Medical Terminology, Windows Operating System and Office and Business. She began working for Tulsa Public Schools as a Cafeteria Aid at Elliott Elementary School. She later in life made a career change where she began working for Dr. David James in South Tulsa. Ruby married Charles Roby on January 6 th , 1981, to that union a son was born Michael. Ruby was baptized at an early age at St. Peters Missionary Baptist Church, under the pastoral leadership of Rev. Buchanan Jones of KC, MO. and attended church on a regular basis until her health began to fail. She truly loved the Lord and was a faithful servant of God. She had a very quiet, tender, loving, spirit and a big heart, and she would do anything for anyone if she could. Ruby ’ s favorite color was purple, she loved jewelry, good smelling cologne, and her stuffed animals. Ruby also loved working crossword puzzles, Soap Opera and her Cartoons. She would remember everyone ’ s birthday and try to send out birthday cards. Ruby leaves a host of family members celebrating her life well lived. Her son, Michael Roby Tulsa, OK, her mother, Mary Campbell Arlington, TX, three grandchildren; Calvin Livingston, Mykila Southall, Jeremy Southall Arlington, TX, four sisters; Valvita Thomas of Anna, TX, Twila Merritt KC, MO, Aminda Merritt Ft. Worth, TX, Delores Merritt of Muskogee, O k, two brother; Ronald Hudson, Jr., of Justin, TX, WilliamMerritt of Dallas, TX, she also leaves two aunts; Harvenia Price (Jerry) of North Carolina, Annie Traylor (Curtis) of KC, MO. And she also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephew as well as cousins, friends and loved ones.
Ruby will dearly be missed by her loved ones.
