Ruth Eiland

Ruth Elizabeth Trotter was born on March 2, 1958 to the late Ulysses and Selma Trotter. She was born into a family of fifteen children; eleven girls and four boys with her being the ninth child. Ruth graduated from High School in the Grenada School District in Grenada, Mississippi and later attended Toledo University in Toledo, Ohio. Ruth was an employee of South Western Bell (AT&T) and retired as a Manager after thirty - one years. She married the love of her life, Roger D. Eiland on July 15, 1978. Together they attended Pilgrims Rest COGIC in Oakland, MS. AT&T transferred her work to Toledo, Ohio; where they attended the New Jerusalem COGIC. Years later, AT&T then transferred her to Dallas, TX in 1994 where she and her family attended Saintsville Sanctuary COGIC. Ruth accepted Christ at the young age of twelve. Under the tutelage of Bishop J.N. Haynes; in 1996 she helped her husband establish Prayer Tower COGIC in the garage of their home. They later obtained a building on Spikes Street in Grand Prairie, Texas. During her tenure as First Lady, she was elevated to Co - Pastor of the church and faithfully served in several capacities. In 2017 she was elevated to State Supervisor for the Texas Metropolitan Jurisdiction. Ruth was a devoted wife and mother of three children; Roger Brandon (Rachel) Eiland, Stephanie Latasha (Cortney) Dixon and Brittany Tiara (Jordan) Robinson. She was also a Mother to her niece, Clatina Gale (LaMonth) Wright. She was doting and ever present in her twelve grandchildren’s lives. There was never anything the grands wanted and couldn’t have. She loved to host family gatherings, church parties and greeted her guests with 5 - 7 course meals. She had meticulous organizational skills and usually planned all the families annual vacation cruises. Mother Eiland was preceded in death by her parents; Ulysses and Selma Trotter, three sisters; Betty Ingram, Mary Starks, Galmer Williams and two brothers; Anthony Trotter and Ulysses “Bud” Trotter. She is survived by her Husband, Superintendent Roger D. Eiland, her children and grandchildren; Tory “TJ”, LaMonth “Trey”, Wylie, Brooklyn, Aryanna, Harmony, Jahirim “Ji”, Layah, Cortney “C2”, Preston, Londyn and Elijah. She also leaves her 7 sisters; Patricia Lynch of Oakland, CA, Dorothy Trotter of Chicago, IL, Regina Williams of Batesville, MS, Verneitte Dorris of Lancaster, CA, Dorcus (Arthur) Tucker of San Leandro, CA, Brenda Trotter of Grenada, MS, Stephanie (Davidez) Dampier of York, PA; three brothers: Leslie Thomas of Smyrna, GA, Richard (Marine) Trotter of Grand Prairie, TX, Dexter (Vernice) Trotter of Grenada, MS and a host of nieces, nephews cousins and her Prayer Tower Church Family.
