Trumaine Smith Funeral Program
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith ~ 2 Timothy 4:7
Dea T, We were introduced by Alva during the summer of 2007. You were new to Dallas and hoping to find a career in the Big D with Mike. During this Ɵme in my life, I had been praying for God to send me a husband. Alva knew that I only wanted to date guys who wanted a serious relaƟonship. When she told you that I was looking for a husband, you said I’m looking for a wife. So from the beginning we were on the same page. We dated for only 6 months when you asked me to marry you on my birthday. I was actually upset with you that day, but said “yes”! I was scared and nervous because we had only known each other 6 months, but I knew you were a great guy and that God had answered my prayers. During our marriage, you remained my protector. Whether you were prepping for the end of the world, trying to buy me a gun, or just making sure everything was taken care of financially, you were there. I remember when COVID hit and we already had a year’s worth of N - 95 masks, water purificaƟon systems, baƩeries, etc. Even while in the hospital you made sure you paid the house note and electric bill. No maƩer what, you were going to take care of us. You were a great dad. You were determined to be at every acƟvity. I cannot think of any acƟviƟes you missed. You talked with our kids about real life situaƟons and scenarios. You would talk to our kids like they were adults and believed in preparing them for real life. They have learned so much from you and have many fun memories with you. I am going to miss you so much. I promise to raise our children with the values you believed in. I promise to keep your memories alive. You were my best friend, my protector, and my heart. Angie
Dea Dady, I love you so much. I loved talking with you about random things. I miss you so much. I hope you are better now. - Tate Dea Dady,
I will miss you taking us to Louisiana to see our grandparents. I will miss the funny jokes that you told. I will miss you taking us to new places. My favorite memory with you was at the arcade during Spring Break. - Kaylee
Dea Dady, I loved playing classic games at the arcade with you. I loved talking with you about Marvel. I loved to go places with you. I will miss seeing you, talking with you, and doing things with you. - Trent
One never knows just how many friends they have until the loss of a loved one. Words cannot express the comfort you have given us in our time of bereavement, just knowing that your prayers, thoughts, and yes, your presence were with us on this day has made our loss a liƔle less painful. Thank you for the flowers, prayers, cards, food, the kind words, as well as your presence. The Family Special Thanks
